"Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them."
(Mark 10: 14-16)
Children have a special place in the heart of God and children have a special place at Open
Bible Baptist Church. In our Junior Church Ministry, elementary and middle school age children can worship and learn in an environment designed especially for them.
Using Bible lessons and missionary stories, along with lively songs and activities, our staff strives to come alongside parents to aid them in pointing their children to Christ. This ministry also begins equipping the children with the Biblical knowledge and tools needed to navigate this life successfully.
In all of our ministries at Open Bible Baptist Church, the Bible is used as our ultimate instruction manual and road map to guide each of us throughout life’s journey. Our Junior Church Ministry strives to teach the fundamental principle of correctly interpreting Scriptures and living a life as directed by the Bible, our Word of Truth. In so doing, our young people will also begin to learn how build precept upon precept to live their lives in such a way that pleases God.
In the scriptures, God designates children as highly valuable potential members of His kingdom, and Open Bible considers our Nursery Ministry to be one of our most important. Within the walls of the nursery we are given the privilege and opportunity to help mold future generations for Christ.
Well equipped with supplies such as cribs, changing table, highchairs and age appropriate toys, each member of our nursery staff has met both screening and backround check requirements.
Our nursery staff strives to provide a loving and safe environment that will both strengthen and nourish the spiritual foundation of the youngest members of our families while allowing their parents to participate in the other services, being confident that their child is being well cared for.
During the teenage years, young people begin to make decisions that will impact the rest of their lives. Just as the call to live for God is present during these years, so too our culture exerts tremendous pressure on impressionable young people to follow its ways. Besides learning in their own Sunday School class, our youth serve in a variety of ministries: adult choir, songleading, sound system, ushering, and congregational and special music. As our youth serve it is our prayer that their involvement will spring from a heart of love and devotion to God and His church.

Ahoy, boys and girls! Here at the Patch the Pirate Club we believe children should be nurtured to choose God’s way at a young age. With daily devotions, scripture memory, Godly music, Bible lessons, and more, we hope to instill Godly habits to equip them for their current and future walk with Christ. So come aboard the Jolly Roger for a wonderful time of adventure and spiritual growth! We meet during the school year on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 pm.
The Pee Wee Club is designed for young children 3 years old through 1st grade. This group meets during Patch the Pirate Club, and is tailored for the younger children with fun songs, stories, and crafts, all teaching Biblical lessons.
